3 Leads for "Being Trapped in the World of Reality Shows"

 Hi readers,
I am going to be writing an opinion piece about why people shouldn't be watching reality shows. Here are my 3 leads, let me know which is the best!
Twist
Thousands of viewers listen in anticipation the well known words of a proposal. Brad Womack proposes to Emily Maynard on the Bachelor’s finale. All the viewers start listening intently as they know the well known words to repeat. “You’re so much more to me than a leap of faith. You’re the one. You’re my once in a lifetime…..let me protect you and your beautiful daughter and give me the opportunity to love you for the rest of your life,” he continues as a tearful Maynard accepted his proposal. People turn off the television feeling so happy for the couple until they find out that the couples broke up right after the proposal. They realize that they had just wasted their lives watching a pointless show of two people who had no chemistry what so ever. Reality shows tend to trap people into this imaginary world. It’s easy to get trapped but it’s hard to get out. People should watch reality shows, they can have a bad influence on our society of what’s acceptable and what’s not.

Compare and Contrast
For centuries, children were able to look up to the hard workers persevering to earn a good life.  Intelligent men and women get about 40,000 a year working more than 40 hours a week. Now, children are getting the wrong idea that the way to a good life is to make money doing completely nothing.  They’ve switched their role models to be people like the jersey shore casts. The jersey Shore cast gets paid 30,000 an episode for doing absolutely nothing. The cast is partying, fighting, and wasting their lives away. People shouldn’t watch reality shows that can influence our viewers’ minds that fighting and partying is the life they should look up to.

Description
Jenna has just had a stressful week and decides to call a couple of friends to watch the “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” Jenna is so excited to see more of the Kardashians’ lives. However, she gets disappointed to find Kim being angry at Kourtney for using her clothes without asking permission. Jenna has just realized that Kim is just like any other ordinary person fighting with her sister. There was nothing special about the episode. Jenna and her friends could have been living their lives; instead they chose to watch someone else living their life. People should avoid watching reality shows and focus on what’s happening in their own lives.

  1. In the first one, you should be more descriptive of who turns off the TV.

The second one, 1) 40,000 what? money? and that isn't alot... I mean with 60,000 you can rent a car and decent apartment and eat ok meals. And specify that it is 30,000 per episode airing.

Overall really good and creative (^-^)

  2. I like the first article because it's straight to the point about what the article is about. You need to change the last sentence though because you put people should watch reality shows instead of they shouldn't.
