2011 Austin Film Festival

The yearly Austin Film Festival is occurring this week from the 20-27.  There are going to be around 300 different films being shown this week so you’re sure to find favorites.  Some of the special presentations are Toy Story, Edward Scissorhands and Bones, these will be followed by Q&A by some of the writers.  Other categories are family films, shorts and Texas independents.  There is a Documentary Feature Competition and a Narrative Feature Competition as well.  Johnny Depp has even come to this year’s Film Festival.

Even though it’s a little late to be buying you can buy a $50 Film Pass to enjoy priority entry into films, inside access to screenwriters and filmmakers.  Buying the pass also allows entry to late-night parties to meet some actors.  There is also the Lone Star Badge for $110 for even more special events.  There are a lot of other packages aside from these two if you’re looking for something specific.  On the other hand, if you’re only going to see a few movies, tickets are available at the door.  Seats are by a first come, first served basis.

  2. Since the film festival has already started, it could have been cool if you had a short list of whats showing at times that kids aren't in school. But the post was a great idea!
