SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE?!?!

The world that the Soylent Green movie depicted was a complete distopian society. Can you imagine having the world so populated to the point that we have to eat soylent green? This means that we can't enjoy any of the foods that we love. No more ice cream, chocolate, or cakes! For every meal, we would have to eat soylent green recycled from dead people. Just thinking about the movie gives me shudders. I am so glad that our world isn't like what Soylent Green world was like. I couldn't imagine eating soylent green, especially now that I know that it's made of people!!!
This movie constantly gave me the goosebumps with all the overpopulated chaos.  This year is 2011 and their predictions for what the world would be like was in 2022 was way off.  The movie showed a world with 44 million people overcrowding the world. Most of them were in the streets or in the hospitals that couldn't even take care of them. Majority of the population relied on Soylent Corporation for their food and were deceived that Soylent Green was made of plankton.
In Soylent Green, the part where several people were being scooped by the machines to control the crowd was truly sad. There were so many people that the machines killing those who stood in the way made the crowd people look disposable and insignificant. How did you guys like the movie? Did it interest you or gross you out? If you missed out on watching Soylent Green in one of the World Geography classes, go here  to get an idea of what Soylent Green is all about.
