Is 2011 a hit or miss for youtube videos, tv shows, and movies? Find out here.
I am going to have to say that YouTube videos deserve a miss this year. Charlie Bit My Finger Again haunted all of us from its grave where it should have stayed. Five minutes (add or take a few, I was not paying attention to the time… or the video) of a baby who bit their brother’s finger and the brother complaining about it. Entertainment.
But the Songify This group did come up with 3 great songs this year: ‘Best NASCAR Prayer Ever’, ‘Can’t Hug Every Cat’, and ‘Winning: a Song by Charlie Sheen’. All very funny, but I think Can’t Hug Every Cat is by far the funniest.
TV
TV Shows is also a miss. The Office, though it is still very entertaining, lost Michael Scott (Steve Carell) and it took the show awhile to regain its reputation. 30 Rock went missing throughout the year due to Tina Fey’s pregnancy (don’t get me wrong, Tina. You are my role model, but I would have worked the pregnancy some other time because I REALLY loved 30 rock!!). Whitney is full of awkward scenes and acting. Just no.
Disney came out with a couple shows I think are horrible. Out of Jessie, So Random!, and A.N.T. Farm none stand out against each other. And ABC’s new Work It series is about drag queens? What the heck?!
But there were some hits. SNL had good hosts, except for Miley Cyrus. And the Walking Dead rose from the dead.
Movies
I think 2011 movies were hits. Here is a list of awesome 2011 movies:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Super 8
Limitless
Hanna
Gnomeo & Juliet
Crazy Stupid Love
Contagion
Hugo
Then there were some misses:
Transformers
Breaking Dawn Part 1
Fast Five
No Strings Attached
Friends With Benefits (sorry JT, don’t cry me a river. I just thought that movie did not bring sexy back.
The Smurfs (do I have to even put it on the list??)
Kung Fu Panda 2
Puss and Boots
Hop
Justin Beiber: Never Say Never (unless it is about this movie)
Jack and Jill
Glee 3D
Bad teacher
Prom
Spy Kids “4D” (what is it smell-o-vision?)
